SUNDAY SCHOOL
"So then, just as you received Christ Jesus as Lord, continue to live in him, rooted and
built up in Him, strengthened in the faith as you were taught, and overflowing with
thankfulness. See to it that no one takes you captive through hollow and deceptive
philosophy, which depends on human tradition and the basic principles of this world
rather than on Christ." Col. 2:6-8

Grace Baptist Church's Christian education plan utilizes an eclectic mix of curricula
(including Regular Baptist Press, Generations of Grace, and BILD) and provides for
biblical instruction for all ages with opportunities on Sunday mornings and throughout
the week. Classes are team-taught, allowing teachers to share responsibility and
students to hear different perspectives on the material.

Tiny Tots — Geared for children ages 2 through 4, the goal of this class is not to
provide 1 1/2 hours of babysitting but to teach children who Jesus is and how God
wants them to behave. Children learn through Bible stories and crafts during the
Sunday school hour and continue learning during the morning worship hour through
review, song, structured play, and snacks.

Pre-primary — Children ages 4 through kindergarten learn basic facts about Christ in a
low-pressure environment where they can feel free to be kids. They learn through Bible
stories and crafts during the Sunday school hour and continue learning during the
morning worship hour through review and a modern-day application story, song,
structured play, and snacks.

Primary — Working their way through the Bible from Genesis to Revelation, children in
grades 1 through 3 will get familiar with the Bible so they can find things for themselves.
Children learn through hands-on activities and memorization of Scripture.
Juniors — Working their way through the Bible from Genesis to Revelation, children in
grades 4 through 6 should begin to grow closer to the Lord. Teachers emphasize the
importance of daily devotions, take prayer requests and praises, and review material
previously covered in a question-and-answer format.

Junior High — The goal for students in grades 7 and 8 is for them to understand how
God's Word relates to the issues and challenges they face as junior highers. Walking
through the Old and New Testaments, students take notes in student workbooks and
interact with teachers during their weekly lessons.

Senior High — The goal for students in grades 9 through 12 is to both know and live
out the principles set forth in God's Word as they study disciplines of the Christian life.
Young Adult (College and Career) — This new class is geared toward high school
graduates through young career people in the general age range of 18-30. The goal of
this discussion-oriented class is for students to see the importance of involvement in the
local church and apply biblical truths to every part of their lives. Topics covered include
James, Habakkuk and Proverbs. Plans for future topics include finances and
apologetics. Young adults also gather outside of the classroom for monthly "Taste of
Home" events and other activities.

Homebuilders — This class is geared toward young newly married Christians to
encourage them and give guidance, through biblical principles, about marriage, raising
a family, and relationship with Christ. Curricula previously discussed include Growing
Kids God's Way (link http://www.growingkids.org) and Excellent Wife, Exemplary
Husband. Another goal is to foster relationships within the group through various
activities.

BFF, or Bringing Forth Fruit (Col. 1:6), is one group that stems from the Homebuilders
class. Couples make a commitment to gather in various homes on a monthly basis to
discuss key Issues for emerging leaders and to think through personal convictions and
commitments to church and family life.

Lifelong Learning -- The members of this adult class share the common goal of
desiring to know the Bible and its author, God, better. Discussion and interaction are
highly encouraged. Topics studied include Bible doctrines and foundations of the faith.
Plans for future study include and an Old Testament survey.

BILD Courses -- These classes target the post-college age group for discussion
centered around curriculum presented by BILD International
(http://www.bild.org/resources/Overview.htm). Courses include the First Principles
series, the Establishing Series, Parenting with a Plan, and more.

Nursery -- The goal of the nursery is to allow parents to worship with a sense of
confidence that their child(ren) is(are) in a safe and loving atmosphere. Nursery
services are available on Sundays (morning and evening) for newborns through age 2
and on Wednesday evenings for newborns through age 3. The nursery is open 15
minutes before and after each service. Parents must sign their child in at the check-in
counter and will receive an ID number to be returned at pick-up. Please make sure your
child's diaper bag has the child's name, a complete change of clothes, diapers, bottles
or a cup, pacifier, and a snack if the child has a special diet.
